(Bass, Banjo)

I was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia, where music immediately became an extensive part of my life. My family played a huge role in sparking my interest in music; growing up, I attended many concerts with my parents and I attribute much of my musical taste to my brother, Greg. Thanks to my family and their love for music, I quickly became influenced by Dave Matthews Band, Yes, The Who, Phish, and many other astonishing musical acts. Constantly listening to music, my style quickly began to form. Picking up the Bass Guitar at the age of 11, I began playing with neighbors, fellow classmates, and other friends. After playing in several bands throughout middle school, I decided to further my knowledge of music and began to become interested in classical guitar. I attended St. Pius High School, where I was an essential part of the classical guitar ensemble.
After High School, I was accepted into the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University. While attending ASU, I continued my musical career by performing with various bands while also being a part of the ASU Guitar Ensemble. I was introduced to Ryan, Halli, and Alex during my third year at college and was asked to be a “stand in” bass player in their band, Do it to Julia. After playing a couple shows, practicing 4 hours a day / 3 days a week, and really enjoying the music that was being made, I was asked to join the band. I graduated from Appalachian State in May 2009 with a degree in Music Industries and a minor in Business. I have been playing music with DITJ ever since.
